Large-bore pistons at Marintec China 2019

The marine fair Marintec China is being held in Shanghai, China from December 3 to 6 at Shanghai International Exhibition Center. KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH, represented by its large-bore piston subsidiary KSLP (China) Co. Ltd., will be exhibiting in the German Pavilion at Hall N2, booth number B4A-13.

On display are Kolbenschmidt pistons with a bore up to 350 mm, destined for customers in Asia. These are mainly marine engine pistons for smaller and mid-size vessels. The large-bore pistons can be found in the main and auxiliary propulsion systems of cruise liners, container and other freight ships and engines for auxiliary power generation. A further application is in locomotive engines. The company is supplying efficient piston solutions complying with IMO III emission regulations and others, issued by numerous nations.

“Marintec China is a great opportunity to meet with the industry and our clients, all at one spot”, says Serge Estorez, General Manager of KSLP in Kunshan. With the production plant in Kunshan, the company is growing its business in the Chinese and Asian market. Customers include the Asian licensees of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, a joint venture of Finland's Wärtsilä Corporation and Chinese CSSC.

About KSLP (KS Large-Bore Pistons)

Large-bore pistons is a business unit of KS Kolbenschmidt Gmbh which belongs to the hardparts division of Rheinmetall AutomotiveAG. It is one of the worlds major producers and offers optimal solutions for pistons in the diameter range from 150 to 640 millimeters. The pistons are made of steel, aluminum and NCI, and are used for stationary, marine and locomotive engine applications. At the three production sites in Neckarsulm (Germany), Marinette (USA) and Kunshan (China) large-diameter pistons are developed and produced for all renowned manufacturers of large four-stroke engines worldwide.
