Rheinmetall wins order for electric coolant pumps
Innovative thermal management for electric and hybrid drives
An international automaker has awarded the Rheinmetall technology group an important order for CWA400 coolant pumps. Worth a figure in the two-digit million-euro range, the transaction marks the extension of an existing contract. Delivery of the pumps, which are earmarked for installation in luxury hybrid vehicles with 2.5-litre four-cylinder engines, is to be complete by 2024. The components were developed by Rheinmetall subsidiary Pierburg Pump Technology GmbH and will be produced at the company's plant in Hartha in Saxony.

Rheinmetall has secured two important orders for back pressure valves for commercial vehicles. A well-known engine manufacturer from China has ordered intelligent electronically commutated back pressure valves for 12-litre diesel engines. Meanwhile, a South American customer has placed an order with the company for pulse width-modulated back pressure valves for 3.8- as well as 4.5- and 6.7-litre engines.

New Technology Center in China
The Rheinmetall technology group’s Materials and Trade division continues to make systematic inroads into China’s expanding on- and off-highway market. Group subsidiary KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH of Neckarsulm, Germany and its cooperation partners – auto parts maker ZYNP Corporation of Mengzhou, China and the Riken Corporation of Tokyo – have joined forces to open their own Tech Center in Nanjing, China.
