Our electric air climate compressor with low weight and outstanding efficiency. Developed for the high-voltage classes HV2 and HV3, it is used in new energy vehicles of various classes. In cold outdoor temperatures, the compressor acts as a heat pump to reduce the energy flow from the high-voltage battery and thus increases vehicle range.
All components of the coolant cycle in a single, handy subsystem: that’s the thermo module from Pierburg. It is supplied prefilled with working media and, thanks to the compact size of the unit, can easily fit into the installation space of the vehicle. In AC-mode, it ensures comfort, and in heat pump mode, increases the range of your electric vehicle in cold weather. The interface to the vehicle-side glycol cycle consists of two heat exchangers that act as heat sources or sinks, depending on the mode.
The EXV electric expansion valve assures demand-oriented regulation of the coolant flow, increasing overall system efficiency. The valve is so compact that it can be fully integrated into the heat exchanger. Usually, it is mounted on the evaporator or the chiller.
